Irresistible Bacon Brie Crescent Wreath Recipe That Will Wow Your Guests

Learn how to make delicious Bacon Brie Crescent Wreath. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and cut into wedges
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (adds a nice tang, but optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

If you want to mix things up, I’ve tried swapping the bacon for turkey bacon or smoked sausage, and it still turns out great. You can also swap the crescent dough for puff pastry sheets if you have those on hand—just adjust baking time accordingly. And if you’re not a fan of Dijon, a bit of honey or fig jam spread inside the wreath before baking adds a lovely sweetness that pairs wonderfully with the creamy brie.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. I always try to prep my baking sheet first because when the kitchen gets busy, it’s easy to forget!
  2. Unroll both cans of crescent roll dough onto a clean surface, pressing the perforations together to form two large rectangles. Then, place one rectangle on top of the other, making a larger square. This double layer gives you that beautiful flaky crust.
  3. Spread the Dijon mustard evenly over the dough square, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges. This little step adds a subtle tang that balances the richness of the brie and bacon.
  4. Arrange the brie wedges in a circle about 2 inches from the center, leaving enough space for the bacon and folding. Scatter the chopped bacon evenly on top of the brie.
  5. Starting from the outer edge, cut the dough into strips about 1.5 inches wide, stopping about 2 inches from the center circle. You should have about 12 strips radiating out like sun rays.
  6. Fold each strip over the filling towards the center, alternating the direction (left, right, left, right) to create a twisted, braided effect. This is the part that looks impressive but is actually pretty forgiving—don’t stress if your twists aren’t perfect. My kids helped me with this part once, and the uneven twists just made it more fun.
  7. Brush the beaten egg over the entire wreath to give it a shiny, golden finish when baked.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Your kitchen will start smelling amazing at this point—brace yourself!
  9. Let the wreath cool for about 5 minutes before slicing. This helps the cheese set slightly so it doesn’t all ooze out when you cut it.
