Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cups diced apples (I love using Granny Smith for that tart kick)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, beat together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. A few lumps are okay.
- Fold in the diced apples gently; overmixing can lead to a dense fritter.
- Spoon the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small mounds. Leave some space between each fritter.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let them cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
