The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients. Freshness is your best friend here, so grab the ripest berries you can find. This recipe is all about letting the natural flavors shine, just like my mom used to do with her magical three-spice tomato sauce.
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over 1/4 cup of the milk and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine the remaining milk and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then add the vanilla extract.
- In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the milk mixture into the whipped cream until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Before serving, top with fresh berries and garnish with mint leaves if desired.
