Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 bunch bok choy, roughly chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
If you can’t find bok choy, baby spinach or napa cabbage make great substitutes. And if you’re out of sirloin, chicken or tofu can stand in for the beef perfectly.
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the beef slices with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Let it marinate while you prepare the other ingredients.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger, stirring until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the marinated beef to the pan. Stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the bok choy and red bell pepper. Stir-fry until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 4 minutes.
- Return the beef to the pan, tossing everything together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot over cooked rice, and enjoy the love and warmth in every bite.
Remember, the key to a good stir-fry is high heat and quick cooking. Keep everything moving in the pan to ensure even cooking and a delightful crunch to the veggies.
