Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
If you’re missing an ingredient, fear not! You can substitute smoked paprika with regular paprika if needed, and if fresh parsley isn’t available, dried works too.
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning adhere better.
- In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until the shrimp are evenly coated.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking to keep them tender.
- Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the skillet and squeeze fresh lemon juice over them for a bright, tangy finish.
- Garnish with chopped parsley for a touch of freshness and serve immediately.
Cooking with kids? Have them help with the seasoning—it’s a fun way to get them involved and excited about the meal.
