Scale
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients—simple, fresh, and full of flavor. My mom always said that good ingredients make the meal, and she was right.
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the onions until soft, about 5 minutes.
- Add the shredded chicken, chicken broth, heavy cream, and frozen peas and carrots to the skillet. Stir well and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- While the chicken mixture simmers, prepare the biscuit topping. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, melted butter, cheddar cheese, parsley, and garlic powder. Mix until a dough forms.
- Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit dough over the chicken mixture in the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
