  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

If you don’t have ground chicken on hand, feel free to substitute with turkey or even a plant-based alternative for a vegetarian twist. Just like my mom used to do, make it work with what you have!

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. While the chicken is cooking, in a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour the Alfredo sauce over the cooked chicken and stir until everything is well combined. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.
  6. To serve, spoon the chicken Alfredo mixture onto the bottom half of a hamburger bun, top with the other half, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
