Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
If you don’t have ground chicken on hand, feel free to substitute with turkey or even a plant-based alternative for a vegetarian twist. Just like my mom used to do, make it work with what you have!
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
- While the chicken is cooking, in a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the Alfredo sauce over the cooked chicken and stir until everything is well combined. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.
- To serve, spoon the chicken Alfredo mixture onto the bottom half of a hamburger bun, top with the other half, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
My tip? Toast the buns lightly to add a bit of crunch. It’s those little touches that elevate a dish from good to great.
