Scale
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients. Just like my mom could turn a humble can of tomatoes into a feast, the quality of each component here really shines through. Go for the freshest steak you can find—this isn’t about splurging, but about making the most of what you have.
- 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 package (about 20 ounces) cheese tortellini
- 4 cloves garlic, cracked and minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cracked garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the sliced steak to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Meanwhile, cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and add to the skillet with the sauce.
- Return the steak to the skillet, tossing everything together until well combined and heated through. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
