Crescent Roll Chili Dog Delight: A Game-Changing Twist on a Classic Favorite

Learn how to make delicious Crescent Roll Chili Dog Delight. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or veggie—whatever your family prefers)
  • 1 cup chili (homemade or canned, your choice)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional, for a little zing)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • Cooking spray or a little olive oil (for greasing the baking sheet)

Feel free to substitute the hot dogs for something like sausage or even veggie dogs to suit your family’s taste. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try adding some diced jalapeños or pickled relish to the chili for an extra kick!

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray or a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. This is where my kids love to help—there’s something about the sound of the can popping open that always gets them excited!
  3. Take a hot dog and place it at the wide end of a triangle. If using mustard, spread a little on the triangle before placing the hot dog.
  4. Roll the hot dog up in the crescent dough, starting from the wide end and rolling to the point. Place it seam-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs.
  5. Once all the hot dogs are wrapped, spoon a little chili over each one, then sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. You can never have too much cheese, right?
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before garnishing with chopped green onions. This is a fun step that adds a pop of color and flavor!

As you bake, the aroma will fill your kitchen, reminiscent of those childhood dinners spent cooking with my dad. It’s a reminder of how meaningful food can be in making memories.
