  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to your crockpot. Add crushed tomatoes, broth, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Approximately 30 minutes before serving, stir in the broken lasagna noodles. Cover and continue cooking until noodles are tender.
  6. Before serving, stir in ricotta cheese and top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Allow cheese to melt.
