Ingredients
Scale
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients, much like my mom would do when she worked her magic with just a can of tomatoes and some spices. Quality ingredients make all the difference in elevating this simple dish into something extraordinary.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sesame oil and ground beef, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes to the beef mixture, stirring well to combine. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Serve the beef over cooked rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
