The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients—fresh and full of flavor. I always opt for bright, crisp peppers and lean ground turkey to keep things light yet tasty. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
You can substitute the bell peppers with any color you prefer or have on hand. For a spicier kick, throw in some diced jalapeños!
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and garlic, sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the bell peppers and cook until they start to soften, around 5 minutes.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
- Season with smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Cook until the turkey is browned and cooked through, approximately 8-10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
