The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients that bring out the best in each other. Simplicity is your best friend here, ensuring you get the full, rich flavor of each element.
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, halved
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional, for an extra zing)
Feel free to add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for a bit of heat, or swap out honey for maple syrup if that’s more your style.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until they’re well-coated.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, cut side down, and roast for 20-25 minutes until they’re tender and browned.
- While they roast, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the honey and balsamic vinegar, cooking gently until it’s all combined and slightly thickened.
- Once the Brussels sprouts are done, transfer them to a serving dish and drizzle with the honey butter sauce. Toss to coat, and serve immediately.
