- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 10 oz marshmallows
- 1/4 cup key lime juice
- 1 tablespoon lime zest
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted and smooth.
- Add the key lime juice, lime zest, and a pinch of salt into the marshmallow mixture, stirring well to combine.
- Remove the pot from heat and gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- If using, stir in the white chocolate chips until just combined. The residual heat will slightly melt the chips, adding a creamy texture.
- Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan with a spatula or wax paper, ensuring an even layer.
- Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
