Sweet Heat Sensation: Mango Habanero Honey Garlic Sauce Delight

Learn how to make delicious Mango Habanero Honey Garlic Sauce. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Gathering your ingredients is the first step to sauce nirvana. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 habanero peppers, seeded and minced (use gloves!)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

If you can’t find fresh mangoes, feel free to substitute with frozen chunks. And if habaneros are a bit too fiery for your taste buds, jalapeños are a milder alternative. Remember, cooking at home is all about making it work for you.

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the chopped mangoes, habanero peppers, and minced garlic. Blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a medium saucepan. Stir in the honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until it slightly thickens.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Remember, it’s okay to tweak the flavors to suit your palate. If you want more heat, add another half of a habanero!
  5. Once the sauce reaches your desired consistency, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  6. Pour the sauce into a jar or bottle for storage. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Every time I make this sauce, I’m reminded of my dad’s stories, and how a simple dish can bring a sense of adventure right to your kitchen.
