Scale
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients. Freshness is your best friend here, elevating the flavors to new heights. Trust me, when it comes to chickpeas, the canned variety is your ally for convenience without compromising taste.
- 2 cups canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup flour (substitute with chickpea flour for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pulse until the mixture is coarse but well-combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and gently fold in the flour until a dough forms.
- Shape the mixture into small patties, about 2 inches in diameter.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm, and enjoy!
