Ingredients
Scale
Gather these ingredients, and you’re halfway to a meal that tastes like a million bucks:
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: fresh basil for garnish
If you’re missing a few things, don’t fret—substituting cottage cheese for ricotta or using ground turkey instead of beef works just fine.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, ricotta cheese, and sour cream until smooth.
- Layer half of the cooked spaghetti in the prepared baking dish. Spread the cheese mixture over the spaghetti.
- Add the remaining spaghetti on top of the cheese layer. Pour the meat sauce over the top.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the entire dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving, and if you’re feeling fancy, sprinkle some fresh basil on top.
Cooking this dish is a bit like orchestrating a symphony in the kitchen, but with the chaos of a family concert—imperfect yet beautiful.
