Ingredients
Scale
Here’s what you’ll need to bring these bars to life. Most of these ingredients are probably already in your pantry, but if not, they’re easy to find in any grocery store.
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (or any neutral oil)
If you’re out of graham crackers, feel free to substitute with crushed digestive biscuits or even oats for a different texture and flavor.
Instructions
Let’s get into the step-by-step process. These bars are straightforward, but a few tips can make them even better.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, peanut butter, and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add in the graham cracker crumbs and mix until well combined. The mixture should be thick yet pliable.
- Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper and press the peanut butter mixture evenly into the bottom.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is set and the bars are firm.
- Once set, remove from the fridge, cut into squares, and enjoy!
One personal tip: If you have little hands helping, prepare for a bit of extra mess—but that’s where the fun is!
