Ingredients
Scale
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients, just like my mom used to do with her magical three-spice tomato sauce. Freshness is your best friend here—opt for fresh shrimp and good-quality butter for the best results.
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the butter is melted and starts to foam.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and opaque, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.
- Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Let it reduce slightly, about 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and if desired, Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
