Ingredients
Before you start, gather these ingredients to keep the flow in your kitchen smooth and stress-free. Remember, substitutions are always welcome—make it your own!
- 1 pound of steak, sliced thinly (ribeye or sirloin work well)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
- 8 ounces of pasta (penne or fettuccine are my go-tos)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
If you’re out of beef broth, feel free to substitute with chicken broth or even water in a pinch. And if you’re a fan of a little zest, a squeeze of lemon at the end can brighten up the dish beautifully!
Instructions
Cooking this dish is straightforward, and I promise, it’s as enjoyable as it sounds. Let’s get started:
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the sliced steak pieces. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir for about a minute until fragrant.
- Add the pasta to the skillet, followed by the beef broth. Stir the ingredients together, ensuring the pasta is submerged in the liquid. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and let it simmer for about 12 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente.
- Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the Parmesan cheese until it’s well combined and creamy. Return the steak to the skillet, mixing everything together.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
This is the part where you’ll want to sneak a taste—just to make sure it’s perfect (and it will be, trust me!).
