Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of crescent roll dough
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Feel free to substitute the maple syrup with honey if that’s what you have on hand. And if you’re out of pecans, walnuts can be a delightful alternative, though I must say, pecans bring a special warmth to the rolls that’s hard to beat.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix together the chopped pecans, brown sugar, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
- Spoon about a tablespoon of the pecan mixture onto the wider end of each triangle.
- Roll each triangle up, starting from the wide end and working towards the narrow end, making sure the filling stays inside as best as possible.
- Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before serving.
Here’s a little tip from my kitchen: if you find the rolls unrolling, just pinch the seams closed before baking. I learned this after a few hilarious kitchen mishaps that I’m sure my kids will tease me about for years!
