Ingredients
Scale
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients that balance both flavor and convenience. I like to keep things simple, using ingredients that are easy to find, yet bring out the best in each other.
- 1 loaf of challah or brioche bread, cubed
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- Pinch of salt
Substitute suggestions: If you’re out of brioche, any sturdy bread like French or sourdough works well. For a dairy-free option, try almond or oat milk.
