Scale
The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients. I always say, keep it simple and let the flavors shine. You don’t need a pantry full of fancy spices—just a few essentials to create magic in your kitchen.
- 1 pound of steak, sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups of cooked rice (leftover rice works great!)
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup of queso blanco
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cumin, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to high and add the steak pieces. Sear until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Reduce the heat to low, stir in the cooked rice, cheddar cheese, and queso blanco. Mix until the cheese is melted and the rice is creamy.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving. Enjoy the comfort of a meal cooked with love!
