Ingredients
Scale
- 4 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Zest of one orange
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Feel free to substitute chicken breasts if you prefer leaner meat, and if you don’t have fresh oranges on hand, bottled orange juice works just as fine.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). While the oven heats up, line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, ground ginger, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken thighs in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle olive oil over them, ensuring they are well coated. Then, pour the orange juice mixture over the chicken, turning the pieces to coat them evenly.
- Sprinkle the orange zest over the chicken, giving it that extra citrus punch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the skin is golden and crispy. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. This step allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in juicy, tender chicken.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
As you prepare this dish, remember that cooking is about experimenting and making things your own. Feel free to add a pinch of chili flakes if you want a bit of heat or swap the parsley for cilantro for a different twist.
