Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
- 1 cup apple butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for a kick)
Feel free to substitute the apple butter with a homemade version if you’re feeling adventurous, or swap thyme for rosemary if that’s more your style. After all, home cooking is about making it yours.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). While waiting, line a baking dish with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a small bowl, mix together the apple butter, salt, black pepper, thyme, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. This mixture will serve as both a marinade and a glaze.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops, searing them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they have a nice golden-brown crust.
- Transfer the seared pork chops to the prepared baking dish. Pour the apple butter mixture over the top, ensuring each chop is well-coated.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. You’ll know they are done when the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and juices run clear.
- Let the pork chops rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps seal in the juices, making each bite tender and flavorful.
