Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces mozzarella balls
- 16 slices of salami
- 16 cherry tomatoes
- 1 cup marinated artichoke hearts
- 16 black olives
- 8 basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Wooden skewers
If you’re missing an ingredient, don’t sweat it. Swap in green olives for black, or use roasted red peppers instead of artichokes. This recipe is as flexible as you need it to be.
Instructions
- Start by soaking the wooden skewers in water for about 15 minutes. This prevents them from burning if you decide to grill them.
- Begin assembling your skewers. I like to start with a mozzarella ball, followed by a slice of salami folded into quarters, a cherry tomato, and an olive. Then add an artichoke heart and a basil leaf.
- Repeat the process until all the skewers are assembled. Feel free to mix and match the order of ingredients.
- In a small bowl, mix the olive oil with Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture lightly over the skewers to add a touch of flavor.
- Finish each skewer with a drizzle of balsamic glaze for a sweet and tangy finish.
Remember, there’s no perfect way to do this. Let the kids take the lead on their skewers, and enjoy the process. It’s all about bringing the family together.
