Ingredients
Scale
Here’s what you’ll need to bring this delicious dish to life:
- 8 ounces of fettuccine
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound steak, cut into strips (ribeye or sirloin work well)
- 1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons blackened seasoning (or adjust to taste)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
If you’re missing some ingredients, don’t fret. You can substitute the steak with chicken or even go all shrimp. For a lighter version, swap heavy cream for half-and-half, although the sauce won’t be as indulgent.
Instructions
Ready to dive into the cooking? Let’s get started:
- Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add steak strips and season with blackened seasoning. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked to your liking, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add shrimp and another sprinkle of blackened seasoning. Cook until pink and opaque, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside with the steak.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the heavy cream, bringing it to a simmer. Stir constantly until slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toss the cooked fettuccine in the Alfredo sauce until well coated. Add the steak and shrimp back into the skillet, gently mixing to combine.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Cooking is a dance. It’s about feeling the rhythm and letting the ingredients guide you. Don’t stress if it gets a little messy—that’s part of the fun!
