Irresistible Bourbon Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls: A Sweet and Savory Delight

Learn how to make delicious Bourbon Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

If you’re missing an ingredient, don’t stress. You can substitute whole milk with almond milk, and if bourbon isn’t your thing, a bit of vanilla extract adds a different but equally delightful flavor.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Stir until a dough begins to form.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with chopped bacon.
  8. Carefully roll the dough into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. While the rolls are baking, combine the bourbon, maple syrup, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  12. Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze generously over the top.

These steps may seem like a lot, but trust me, the process is therapeutic, and the reward is divine. My kids love to help with the rolling and slicing, turning this recipe into a family affair.
