Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish
- Optional: A squeeze of fresh lemon juice for brightness
Feel free to substitute sirloin for ribeye or filet mignon if you’re feeling indulgent. And if fresh herbs are calling your name, by all means, swap in fresh for dried.
Instructions
- Start by patting the steak pieces dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak pieces in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to your liking.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside. Lower the heat to medium and add the butter to the same skillet.
- Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then stir in the thyme and rosemary.
- Return the steak to the skillet, tossing to coat in the butter and herbs. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, just until everything is warmed through and well coated.
- For a pop of freshness, add a squeeze of lemon juice and sprinkle with parsley before serving.
As my kids would say, the smell alone is enough to get everyone gathered around the table, forks eagerly in hand.
