Irresistibly Cheesy Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole Delight

Learn how to make delicious Cheesy Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 pound ground beef (or thinly sliced beef steak for a more traditional touch)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning for an extra flavor kick

Feel free to substitute the bell peppers with any veggies your family prefers or omit the Worcestershire sauce if it’s not to your taste. The magic here is in making it your own, just like my mom would turn a few pantry staples into a feast.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish with a light coating of cooking spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sauté the onions, bell peppers, and garlic until they’re soft and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using). Mix well to combine all the flavors.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with half of the mozzarella and provolone cheeses. Stir until smooth.
  6. In your prepared baking dish, spread half of the beef mixture, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture. Repeat the layering process with the remaining beef and cheese.
  7. Top with the remaining mozzarella and provolone cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps the flavors meld together beautifully. Serve warm and enjoy the smiles around the table.
