Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of refrigerated pizza dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 24 slices of pepperoni
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Marinara sauce for dipping (optional)
If you’re out of pizza dough, crescent roll dough works wonders too. And for a vegetarian twist, swap the pepperoni for roasted veggies.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Trust me, this bit of prep saves you from a sticky situation later.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. If my kids are around, they love helping with this step—little hands are perfect for this task!
- Spread the mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Lay the pepperoni slices over the cheese. This is where my childhood memories of layering flavors come into play. Stack them generously!
- Starting at one long end, roll the dough up tightly, like a jelly roll.
- Slice the roll into 12 equal pieces and place them cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture over the top of each roll-up, then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly. The kids know it’s ready when the kitchen smells like a pizzeria.
- Let them cool slightly before serving with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.
