Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
If you’re out of sour cream, Greek yogurt makes a great substitute, keeping things creamy and tangy. And if cheddar isn’t your thing, feel free to swap it out for whatever you have in the fridge—this recipe is wonderfully forgiving.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown. Remember, we’re just looking to give them a nice color; they don’t need to be cooked through at this point.
- Place the seared chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish and spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the top of each breast.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
