Ingredients
Scale
- 4 waffle cones
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 cup fresh mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries work great)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
If you’re out of heavy cream, you can substitute with coconut milk for a lighter version. And feel free to use whatever berries you have on hand—sometimes we just work with what we’ve got in the fridge, right?
Instructions
- Start by gently crushing the waffle cones into a medium-sized bowl, leaving some larger pieces for a delightful crunch.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate chips with the unsalted butter, stirring continuously until smooth.
- In another pan, heat the mixed berries with sugar and vanilla extract. Cook until the berries are soft and syrupy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Whip the heavy cream in a chilled bowl until it forms soft peaks. If you like it sweeter, add a spoonful of powdered sugar.
- Layer the crushed waffle cones, whipped cream, melted chocolate, and berry sauce in individual bowls. Swirl the chocolate and berry sauce for a marbled effect.
- Top with a sprinkle of powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness, if desired.
Remember, there’s no need to worry about making it picture-perfect. My kitchen motto is that it’s the taste, not the look, that counts!
