Decadent Delight: Irresistible Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake Cups

Learn how to make delicious Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake Cups. Easy recipe with step-by-step instructions.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Gathering the ingredients for these cups is a breeze, and you probably already have most of them in your pantry.

  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish

If you’re out of graham crackers, feel free to substitute with crushed digestive biscuits or even Oreo cookies for an extra chocolatey base. And if you’re feeling adventurous, a dash of espresso powder in the mousse can take the flavor to a whole new level!

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing the crust. In a medium bowl, combine the crushed graham crackers and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs are well-coated.
  2. Divide the mixture evenly among serving cups, pressing down gently to form a base. Set aside.
  3. For the cheesecake layer, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth and creamy. Spoon over the graham cracker crust in each cup, smoothing the tops with a spoon.
  4. Next, prepare the chocolate mousse. In a heatproof bowl, melt the chocolate chips over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until well combined.
  6. Spoon the chocolate mousse over the cheesecake layer in each cup, spreading evenly.
  7. Chill the cups in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, allowing the layers to set.
  8. Before serving, add a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings if desired.

As you prepare these cups, remember that cooking is about enjoyment, not perfection. If your mousse doesn’t set perfectly, or the cheesecake layer is a bit uneven, it’s all part of the homemade charm.
