Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar, for coating
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for coating
Feel free to substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend if needed. Also, you can use a sugar substitute for a lighter version without sacrificing too much flavor.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add in the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the 1/4 cup sugar with the cinnamon. This will be your coating.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mix until fully coated.
- Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remember, the cookies will continue to firm up as they cool.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
These cookies are a dream to make, and because they’re so quick, you’ll have more time to enjoy them with your loved ones. Just like the meals my parents made, these cookies are meant to be shared and enjoyed together.
