Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chili flakes
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 green onions, sliced for garnish
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Start by patting the shrimp dry with paper towels. This ensures they get a nice, crispy coating.
- In a bowl, toss the shrimp with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the chili flakes, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Stir the mixture until it begins to bubble and thicken slightly.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the sauce until they are well coated.
- Remove from heat and garnish with green onions. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for an extra zing.
