Ingredients
Scale
Let’s get our hands on some simple ingredients that you might already have in your pantry. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Vegetable oil for frying
Feel free to substitute mozzarella with cheddar or any cheese that melts well. And for a healthier twist, bake instead of fry!
Instructions
Let’s bring these tasty morsels to life with a few easy steps:
- In a bowl, toss the shrimp with minced garlic, olive oil, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.
- Set up a breading station: Place the flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of panko breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in a third bowl.
- Take each shrimp, stuff it with a little mozzarella cheese, press together, and roll it first in flour, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mix.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, gently place the shrimp bombs in the oil, cooking until golden brown and crispy, about 3 minutes per side. If you prefer baking, arrange them on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F for about 15 minutes.
- Remove and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
