Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of heat)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Lemon wedges for serving
Feel free to substitute panko with regular breadcrumbs for a different texture, or swap olive oil for melted butter if you want a richer flavor.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko mixed with minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip each shrimp first in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat with the panko mixture, pressing lightly to adhere the crumbs.
- Place the breaded shrimp on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil to help achieve that golden, crispy texture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked through and the coating is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with lemon wedges for an added citrusy kick.
As I always say, don’t worry about a little mess—it’s a sign of a good meal in the making. Just keep a damp cloth nearby to wipe those hands!
