Creating something delicious doesn’t mean you need a long list of ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 box of brownie mix (your favorite brand)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Substitution Tip: If you’re out of cherry pie filling, try using raspberry or strawberry filling for a different twist.
Instructions
Let’s get baking! Follow these steps for a delightful dessert:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Stir until well blended.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few crumbs.
- While the brownies are baking, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and glossy.
- Once the brownies are done, let them cool for about 10 minutes. Then, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the brownies.
- Pour the cherry pie filling over the brownies, making sure to fill the holes. Spread it evenly.
- Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the cherry layer, using a spatula to spread it evenly.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld together.
