Ingredients
Scale
Gather these ingredients, and you’re halfway to a delicious dinner:
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Fresh dill for garnish (optional)
If you’re out of paprika, smoked paprika works beautifully here for an extra layer of flavor. And if dill isn’t your thing, parsley or cilantro are great alternatives.
Instructions
Follow these steps, and you’ll have a delicious meal in no time:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps the seasonings stick better and the skin get crispier.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Brush the olive oil mixture over the salmon fillets evenly, ensuring each fillet is well-coated.
- Place lemon slices on top of each fillet. This not only adds flavor but keeps the salmon moist during cooking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. This is when I usually call the kids to wash up—perfect timing!
- Garnish with fresh dill before serving, if desired.
Voilà! Dinner is served, and it’s a feast that’s both nourishing and simple.
