Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges for serving
- Wooden or metal skewers
If you find yourself missing an ingredient, don’t fret. Swap the sirloin with your favorite steak cut or use pre-marinated shrimp for an extra flavor boost. Cooking is all about making the most of what you have!
Instructions
- Begin by soaking the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning during cooking.
- In a large bowl, combine the steak cubes, shrimp, olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the meat and shrimp evenly.
- Thread the steak and shrimp onto the skewers, alternating between the two for an even mix.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Once the butter is melted and sizzling, add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the skewers to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the steak is seared and the shrimp is pink and opaque.
- Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan and drizzle over the cooked skewers.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
Remember, cooking times can vary based on the size of your meat and shrimp. Don’t be afraid to adjust the heat or time to get that perfect sear!
