Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 4 slices of thick-cut bacon, chopped
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: A pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat
If you’re out of balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar works just as well. And if honey isn’t your thing, maple syrup is a fantastic substitute.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until they’re well coated.
- Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Scatter the chopped bacon evenly over the Brussels sprouts.
- Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and the bacon is crispy. Halfway through, give them a good stir to ensure even cooking.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey and balsamic vinegar. Stir until warm and well-blended.
- Once the Brussels sprouts are done, drizzle the honey balsamic glaze over them. Toss everything together on the baking sheet to ensure even coating.
- Return to the oven for another 5 minutes, allowing the glaze to caramelize slightly.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the sweet and salty magic!
