Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza crust (or homemade if you’re feeling adventurous)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
- 1 1/2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade by mixing honey with a pinch of chili flakes)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional, but highly recommended for a fresh finish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F. If you have a pizza stone, pop it in to heat as well—this will give you that crispy crust we all adore.
- Place your pizza crust on a baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a stone. Brush the crust edges lightly with olive oil for a golden finish.
- Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Evenly distribute the shredded chicken over the sauce. I like to use a rotisserie chicken for convenience—because, let’s be honest, time is precious.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, ensuring it covers all the chicken. Sprinkle the red onion slices over the cheese.
- Transfer the pizza to the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with hot honey. The contrast of the warm pizza and the spicy-sweet honey is a game-changer.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if using. Let the pizza cool for a minute or two before slicing and serving.
