Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of chicken thighs or breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (your choice, but I love a good Sriracha for that kick!)
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Feel free to swap the chicken thighs for breasts if that’s what you’ve got on hand. And if you’re not a fan of too much heat, adjust the hot sauce to your liking. It’s all about making it work for you and your crew.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to make cleanup a breeze.
- In a small saucepan, combine the honey, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once it starts bubbling, reduce the heat and let it thicken for about 5 minutes.
- While the sauce is simmering, season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken pieces until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the seared chicken to the prepared baking sheet. Brush generously with the hot honey glaze.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving. This is a great time to sprinkle on some fresh parsley if you’re feeling fancy.
Cooking with my kids taught me the importance of savoring the process, so don’t rush it. Let the aroma fill your kitchen and enjoy the moment!
