Ingredients
Scale
Gathering these ingredients is easy, and you might already have most of them in your pantry. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces rice noodles or your favorite noodles
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
If you’re not a fan of spicy, you can tone down the gochujang or substitute it with a milder sauce. And don’t worry if you don’t have flank steak; ground beef works just as well for a quicker option.
Instructions
- Start by cooking the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the garlic and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the soy sauce, gochujang, sugar, and rice vinegar to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
- Return the beef to the skillet, stirring to coat with the sauce. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes to absorb all those flavors.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing everything together until the noodles are well-coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
And there you have it! A delicious meal that takes you on a flavor trip to Korea without leaving your kitchen.
