Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Feel free to tweak the garlic and pepper levels to your family’s taste. I often find myself adding a little extra garlic, because, well, can you ever have too much garlic?
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, combine the lemon zest, lemon juice, black pepper, garlic powder, salt, olive oil, and honey (if using). Stir until well mixed.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until they are thoroughly coated with the lemon-pepper-garlic mixture. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are not touching to ensure even cooking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy. My little trick? Broil them for an additional 2-3 minutes if you want extra crispiness.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Remember, the goal is not perfection but deliciousness. It’s okay if some wings are a bit more golden than others—it’s all part of the charm!
