Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound frozen French fries
- 1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Optional: sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick
Feel free to swap out the ribeye for flank steak if that’s what you’ve got in the fridge. And if provolone isn’t your jam, cheddar or even mozzarella works beautifully here. Remember, cooking at home is all about making it work with what you have.
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the instructions on your frozen fries package and bake until crispy and golden brown.
- While the fries are baking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers, cooking until they’re soft and starting to caramelize, about 8-10 minutes.
- Push the veggies to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced steak. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Sauté until the steak is cooked to your liking, approximately 5 minutes for medium-rare.
- Once the fries are ready, spread them out on a large serving platter or baking sheet. Top with the cooked steak and vegetable mixture.
- Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese evenly over the top. If you like a bit of heat, add some sliced jalapeños.
- Pop the platter back in the oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve immediately, and enjoy the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with a fun twist!
Trust me, when the cheese starts to melt into those crispy fries, you’ll forget about the mess in the kitchen. It’s all part of the magic!
