  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

If you’re out of maple syrup, honey is a great substitute. And for my gluten-free friends, feel free to swap the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the maple syrup, ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bake to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy the sweet aroma filling your home!
