Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of carrots, peeled and cut into sticks
- 4 strips of bacon, chopped
- 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves (optional)
Don’t have fresh thyme? No worries. You can substitute it with a pinch of dried thyme or even rosemary for a different flavor twist. Remember, cooking at home is about using what you have and making it work!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Spread the carrot sticks on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss them around to coat evenly.
- Scatter the chopped bacon over the carrots. Trust me, this is where the magic begins.
- Roast in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Remove the tray from the oven and drizzle the maple syrup over the carrots and bacon. Toss everything gently to coat.
- Return to the oven and roast for an additional 10 minutes or until the bacon is crispy and the carrots are tender.
- If using, sprinkle the fresh thyme leaves over the top before serving. Enjoy the aromatic burst that makes the dish extra special.
