Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound kielbasa sausage
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Feel free to substitute the Dijon mustard for whole grain mustard if you prefer a bit more texture. And if you like things spicy, a pinch of cayenne pepper can add an extra kick!
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the kielbasa into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Make shallow cuts across each round to create the hasselback effect, being careful not to slice all the way through.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and smoked paprika until smooth.
- Brush each kielbasa round with olive oil, then slather generously with the mustard mixture.
- Arrange the kielbasa rounds on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and caramelized.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired.
Pro tip: Use a pair of chopsticks placed on either side of the kielbasa to prevent cutting all the way through. It’s a trick I picked up while experimenting in my kitchen, and it works wonders!
